Measuring the neck size of your dog
Measuring where?
A: Collar
Measure the circumference halfway up the neck at point A. This is where you measure the neck size for classic and padded collars.
B: Half Check
Measure the circumference at the highest point of the neck, just below the head (point B). This is the thinnest part of the neck. This way you prevent the closed half check collar from gliding over the head.
The circumference of the closed half check collar determents the correct size (ring-to-ring).
C: X (not a measuring point)
Do not measure the dogs neck size this low on the neck. You risk your collar will not fit. Your dogs’ neck is relatively wide at this point (point C).
How to measure?
With a cloth tape measure
- Measure the circumference of the neck at the correct point (see illustration)
- Don’t pull the tape measure too tight. Place two fingers between the measure and the neck.
Use your old collar
You can also use an old collar that fits well.
Measure the distance between the buckle and the hole you use (D). This is the neck size.
